Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah warned Wednesday that his terror group and its allies might respond in the aftermath of the U.S. decision to designate Iran’s Revolutionary Guard as a foreign terrorist organization. Nasrallah said that although his group and Iran are both sanctioned, it “does not mean we have no power cards.”

He called the announcement by U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday an act of “stupidity.”

The Trump administration’s decision stems from the “failure” of its policies in the region, said Nasrallah.

The Guard is Hezbollah’s main supporter.

The Hezbollah leader also said in the aftermath of the victory of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday in the Knesset election that “we are facing unprecedented American-Israeli cooperation.” He accused the U.S. of “humiliating an entire nation on behalf of Israel.”

Hezbollah is also a member of the Lebanese government.

Israel and the U.S. have long classified the entire Hezbollah organization as a terrorist entity but the European Union has given that tag only to the military wing of Hezbollah. Recently, however, Britain named the entire organization as a terrorist group.

Canada, the Netherlands, and member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council have also given the terrorist classification to the entire organization.
