A day after Israeli troops killed four Palestinian terrorists who attempted to cross through the security barrier from the Gaza Strip on Saturday, a terrorist opened fire at Israeli soldiers on the Gaza border. He was shot and killed by IDF soldiers who returned fire.

The terrorist was identified attempting to cross the border by an IDF lookout point. When he opened fire, soldiers from Golani’s 13th Battalion eliminated him.

IDF tanks also opened fire at Hamas positions in the area. “There was no danger to the nearby communities,” the IDF reported. No IDF soldiers were injured in the incident.

According to Israel’s Ynet news site, the body of the terrorist who was killed was filmed wearing a headband of Hamas’s military wing, something only done for its forces.

Gazan sources later identified the terrorist as Marwan Nasser, a member of Hamas’ elite Nuhba forces.

This follows Saturday’s incident in which four terrorists armed with AK-47 assault rifles, RPG grenade launchers and grenades attempted to infiltrate into Israel.

The IDF says they were on their way to attack a nearby Israeli community.

On Saturday night, Prime Minister and Defense Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised the IDF unit that “acted quickly and efficiently on the border with Gaza and prevented a terrorist infiltration of our territory.”

“Hamas is responsible for all aggression emanating from the whole of Gaza. Israel will continue to act to thwart infiltrations of its territory and attacks on our citizens,” he added.
