Israel can’t hit crucial Iranian nuclear site without American help

The U.S. is the only military power with bunker-busters strong enough for the underground Fordow uranium enrichment plant.

Israel alone cannot neutralize the Iranian nuclear threat on its own and needs military support from the U.S., especially for complex operations such as targeting the underground, fortified Fordow nuclear enrichment plant, an analyst told Fox News Digital on Tuesday.

Jerusalem launched a sweeping campaign aimed at permanently destroying Iran’s nuclear program last Friday, bombing many of its nuclear assets throughout the country.

But Fordow, a site nestled into a mountain and built largely underground, remains largely out of reach of Israeli Air Force jets.

“Fordow is not the only remaining important nuclear facility, but it’s the most dangerous,” Mark Dubowitz, CEO of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, told Fox News Digital on Tuesday. “Destroying it from the air is a job only the U.S. can do.”

While Israel does possess heavy munitions its arsenal that could do serious damage to the site, “penetrating Fordow fully remains beyond current Israeli capability without U.S. cooperation or creative alternatives like internal sabotage or specialized ordnance,” Dubowitz added.

“Only the United States possesses the full spectrum” of bunker-busting bombs and their carriers necessary for ensuring that the Fordow site is completely neutralized.

During the onset of the conflict, President Donald Trump was careful to emphasize that Israel has acted alone in its airstrikes, emphasizing that Iran has no reason to retaliate against American military assets in the region.

But in recent days, Trump has hinted that the U.S. could directly join the military campaign.

On Tuesday, Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform about U.S. militayr superiority.

“We now have complete and total control of the skies over Iran. Iran had good sky trackers and other defensive equipment, and plenty of it, but it doesn’t compare to American made, conceived, and manufactured ‘stuff,'” Trump wrote.

“Nobody does it better than the good ol’ USA,” he added.
