An Arab terrorist stabbed and wounded a 19-year-old Israeli on Monday.

The incident occurred near the A-Zaim checkpoint at the northern exit of Jerusalem, when the assailant stabbed a young man in his upper body. The victim, who was conscious, was evacuated by a medical team to Shaare Zedek hospital in moderate condition. After undergoing a series of tests, his status was changed to “lightly wounded,” as it became apparent that his situation was less severe than initially assumed.

The terrorist reportedly got into a waiting car after the attack and fled towards Jericho, which is under Palestinian Authority (PA) control. IDF forces have launched a manhunt. Some reports indicate that the terrorist is an Israeli Arab.

Witnesses said that the terrorist ran towards a group of Israelis hitchhiking and stabbed one of them.

In April, a Palestinian terrorist was shot at the A-Zaim checkpoint after he tried stabbing security forces manning the post. The terrorist, Ali Said Abu Ranem, 16, from Jerusalem, died of his wounds.
