Palestinian terrorist shot while attempting to stab security guards

Israel continues to face a wave of Palestinian terrorism on a daily basis and fights constantly to ensure the safety of its citizens.

A female Palestinian terrorist was shot and wounded by Israeli security guards at the Qalandiya checkpoint, just north of Jerusalem, on Tuesday after she attempted to stab them.

No Israelis were harmed in the incident.

A police spokesman stated that she approached the guards with haste and did not heed their calls to stop. They fired at her lower body and wounded her.

A police sapper was alerted to the scene to check the bag she was carrying for bombs. He found her to be carrying a knife.

After the sapper cleared her for explosive she was evacuated to an Israeli hospital in light condition.

Palestinians rioted at the scene of the attack, and were pushed off by Border Policemen.

She was identified by police as an 18-year-old from the nearby Palestinian village of Kafr Akeb.

The Qalandiya checkpoint has been the scene of several terror attacks in recent months.

The role of female Palestinian terrorists has grown markedly in the latest wave of terror attacks.

This incident was the latest in a long series of  Palestinian terror attacks, which have plagued Israelis over the course of the past 10 months, claiming the lives of 39 victims and wounding over 500.
