Almost half of Israelis do not think the war with Iran was successful

On the central question of victory, 46% of respondents said Israel and the United States did not win the war, while 22% said they did.

Israelis remain divided over whether Israel and the United States achieved victory in the war with Iran, with most respondents expressing dissatisfaction with the outcome.

A Walla and Maariv poll published Thursday found public sentiment tilted negative, with 63% saying they were dissatisfied with how the war ended, compared with 32% who reported satisfaction.

The data also revealed a pronounced political split: 61% of coalition voters said they were satisfied, while only 17% of opposition voters expressed the same view.

On the central question of victory, 46% of respondents said Israel and the United States did not win the war, while 22% said they did.

The findings suggest that, despite a ceasefire, many Israelis do not feel a sense of success in the direct campaign against Iran, and the public is not buying the “image of victory” when it comes to Iran.

The survey also assessed confidence in senior officials. Air Force Commander Tomer Bar received the highest approval rating, with 77% expressing satisfaction. IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir followed with 71%.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu received a 47% satisfaction rating overall, reflecting a sharp divide between political camps.

Among coalition voters, 92% said they were satisfied with his performance, compared with 24% among opposition voters. Overall, 49% expressed dissatisfaction.

Defense Minister Israel Katz recorded 40% satisfaction, with 51% dissatisfied.

Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and Education Minister Yoav Kisch ranked lowest among those surveyed, each receiving 29% satisfaction.

US President Donald Trump was also evaluated in the poll. Some 52% of Israelis said they were satisfied with his performance during the war, while 43% said they were dissatisfied.

The poll was conducted by Lazar Research, headed by Dr. Menachem Lazar, among 500 respondents from Israel’s adult population, with a margin of error of 4.3%.
