Israeli forces operating in southern Lebanon have demolished dozens of Hezbollah sites in the past few days, the IDF announced on Monday morning.

An army spokesperson said on Monday that troops from the Golani Brigade destroyed more than 50 Hezbollah terror infrastructure sites in southern Lebanon in recent days, including an underground compound used by the group to attack Israeli forces and Israeli territory.

The military said the operations were part of Golani’s activity to remove threats south of Israel’s forward defense line in Lebanon.

During a targeted raid in the area of Adchit al-Qusayr, IDF troops found a weapons cache inside a children’s room, the IDF spokesperson said.

The cache included explosive devices, Kalashnikov rifles, grenades, RPG rockets, machine guns, ammunition and combat equipment.

In footage released by the military, a company commander in the Golani Reconnaissance Unit said the weapons were found among children’s rooms and beds.

“We are a force from the Golani Reconnaissance Unit,” the commander said. “We found here, among the children’s rooms, the beds, in the rooms, an abnormal quantity of enemy weapons.”

He said Hezbollah was using the children’s room to hide and shield its weapons.

“Under the cover of the toys and the beds of the children’s rooms, [the enemy] uses the weapons against our forces, hides and shields itself behind the children’s rooms and everything you see here,” he said.

The IDF accused Hezbollah of operating from within Lebanon’s civilian population and “cynically” exploiting civilians in order to carry out attacks against Israeli civilians and Israeli troops.

The military also said Hezbollah operatives launched an explosive drone on Sunday toward Golani forces operating in southern Lebanon, south of the forward defense line.

The drone was intercepted shortly afterward, the IDF said.
