Police sappers were called to a high school in the Shaar Hanegev Regional Council on Sunday morning after a rocket was found near the classrooms.

The rocket is believed to be from the barrage that hit southern Israel overnight Saturday during the weekend’s escalation. The spokesperson for the Shaar Hanegev Regional Council said it seemed the rocket had exploded before hitting the ground.

The school was immediately evacuated after the rocket was found.
