Blanking on name of terror group central to current conflict, Biden refers to Hamas as “the opposition.”

During a press conference on Tuesday evening, President Joe Biden apparently forgot the name of the Hamas terror group, referring to them as “the opposition.”

After being prompted by a journalist who appeared to jog Biden’s memory, the president then clarified he was speaking about Hamas.

Biden was asked about the ongoing negotiations for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas which would end the Swords of Iron War.

But midway through his answer regarding Hamas’ response, Biden seemingly blanked on the name of the terror group, which has pledged to kill Jews and Israelis throughout the world.

“There is some movement, and I don’t wanna, I don’t wanna, let me…be choose my words — there’s some movement. There’s been a response from the, uh, there’s been a response from the opposition, but um…” Biden stammered.

“Hamas?” a journalist called out.

“Yes, I’m sorry, from Hamas,” Biden said.

He went on to refer to Hamas’ response to a potential ceasefire deal, in which the terror group pledged not to budge from their demand that Israel end the war and withdraw all troops from the Gaza Strip, as “a little over the top.”

The awkward moment was far from the first time that octogenarian Biden has struggled to recall critical information while speaking, with numerous incidents calling his mental fitness into question.

According to a recent NBC poll, 76 percent of American voters said they had “major” or “moderate” concerns about Biden’s mental and physical health.

Just 11 percent of voters reported they had “no concerns at all” regarding Biden’s fitness for office.

Public Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir’s son recently tweeted a photo of Biden, along with a caption implying that the U.S. president has Alzheimer’s and is suffering from cognitive decline.

Ben-Gvir swiftly apologized, saying his son’s tweet was a “serious mistake.”
