Israel demolishes home of terrorist who murdered Israeli couple in front of children

Israeli forces early Tuesday morning demolished the home of a Palestinian terrorist who was a member of a Hamas terror cell that murdered Israeli couple Eitam and Na’ama Henkin in front of their four children in October 2015.

The IDF said in a statement that, acting in accordance with directives from the government, it destroyed the home of Amjad Elewi in Shechem (Nablus).

Elewi assisted in the “planning and execution” of a deadly shooting attack

Elewi and four other Hamas terrorists ambushed Rabbi Eitam and Na’ama Henkin who were driving home from a holiday event with their four children. The terrorists murdered both parents and then fled the scene. The children were left unharmed.

The cell members were subsequently captured by Israeli security forces.

In December, the IDF destroyed the home of Rajab Ahmed Mohammed Aliwa, who commanded the Hamas cell and planned the attack.

In May, the IDF sealed the home of Zid Ziad Jameel Amar, another cell member.

Also on Tuesday, police forces shuttered a Jerusalem pastry shop belonging to the family of the terrorist who shot and murdered two Israelis and wounded six other on Sunday. The shop was a “center for incitement,” where videos were filmed to “encourage terrorism,” according to a police statement.

The demolition of terrorists’ homes are meant to serve as deterrence for potential terrorists who are plotting future attacks and are part of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s plans to contend with the recent wave of Palestinian terror attacks, which has claimed the lives of 41 victims in over a year.
