By Vered Weiss, World Israel News US President Donald Trump said Monday that Washington will respond promptly to an Iranian attack targeting Israel’s largest oil refinery in Haifa. Speaking to the New York Post, Trump declined to outline specific steps but signaled an imminent decision. “You’ll see shortly,” he said when asked how the United States would respond. The comments came after a strike earlier on Monday when a cluster missile from Iran was launched toward Haifa. Authorities reported multiple locations where interceptor debris fell across the city and nearby areas. Fire and Rescue Services said a residential building in Shfar’am was directly hit. Trump also referenced potential talks involving Iranian leadership, adding it would take one week to assess whether Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, speaker of the Iranian parliament, is willing to work with the United States to end the conflict. On Truth Social, Trump said the US is engaged in “serious discussions” with what he described as a new regime in Tehran aimed at ending the war in Iran. “The United States of America is in serious discussions with A NEW, AND MORE REASONABLE, REGIME to end our Military Operations in Iran,” he wrote.
