By World Israel News Staff The IDF carried out airstrikes on Hezbollah launch sites in southern Lebanon on Wednesday, targeting multiple locations that Israeli officials said were being used by the Iran-backed terror group in recent weeks. According to the Israel Defense Forces, the strikes hit several launch sites across different areas of southern Lebanon. The military said the operation destroyed military structures and additional terror infrastructure from which Hezbollah terrorists had been operating. Lebanese media outlets reported strikes in several areas. The Al-Mayadeen network said the Israeli Air Force struck the Tabbana area in the Sidon district, while additional reports in Lebanon cited attacks in the Namiriya area of the Nabatieh district. The IDF said the presence and operation of the targeted launch sites constitute a violation of the existing understandings between Israel and Lebanon, which are meant to prevent Hezbollah from establishing military capabilities close to the border. The strikes come as a year-end deadline, now just days away, approaches for Hezbollah to disarm and for the Lebanese Armed Forces to assert control over southern Lebanon under international commitments. Israeli officials have repeatedly expressed skepticism that Hezbollah will comply, pointing to continued military activity and efforts to rebuild terror infrastructure in the area.
