The poll represents a significant improvement for Haley, who trailed Trump in the organization’s previous survey from late December and early January. In Tuesday’s poll, Trump took 47 percent of registered Republicans’ support, while Haley took 35 percent from that group. Haley enjoyed the support of a majority of independent respondents, however, taking 51 percent to Trump’s 24 percent. At the same time, Trump had 41 percent support from respondents who said they would definitely vote, while Haley took 39 percent. The poll queried 600 likely Republican primary voters in New Hampshire—406 registered Republicans and 194 independents—and carried a 4 percent margin of error. It came a day after Trump easily won Monday’s Iowa caucuses by almost 30 points. The Granite State’s primary next Tuesday is seen as one of the best opportunities for Haley to secure an early primary win over Trump. A CNN poll from earlier this month saw Haley trail Trump by single digits in New Hampshire.Read Sid Rosenberg’s explosive trip to Israel: What you didn’t hear Donald TrumpNew HampshireNikki Haley
