Hezbollah leaders get plastic surgery to evade Israel: Report

Saudi media says “dozens” of Hezbollah operatives have undergone urgent cosmetic procedures.

Senior Hezbollah leaders are undergoing plastic surgery to alter their appearances in an effort to evade Israeli intelligence and avoid targeted assassinations, according to a new report.

Saudi television channel Al-Hadath reported that “dozens of urgent cosmetic surgeries for Hezbollah members and commanders injured in Israeli drone attacks are reportedly being performed in Iran, at secret clinics overseen by the [IRGC].”

The report included interviews with several Hezbollah operatives whose faces were obscured.

Iran is considered a global leader in cosmetic surgery and is Hezbollah’s primary patron. Reports estimate that Iran invested some $1 billion into training, arming, and funding Hezbollah, in 2025 alone.

Following the massive Israeli “beeper” operation in September 2024 — in which explosives hidden inside pagers detonated simultaneously, killing and injuring large numbers of Hezbollah operatives — Iran airlifted hundreds of wounded terrorists to Iranian hospitals for reconstructive surgery.

Now, according to Al-Hadath, Iran is not only treating those injured in the attacks but is also providing cosmetic surgery to senior Hezbollah commanders who were not wounded, in an effort to alter their physical identities and reduce the chances of Israeli drones or intelligence units identifying them.

Although Israel and Lebanon signed a Biden administration–brokered ceasefire in November 2024, tensions between Jerusalem and Hezbollah have steadily escalated.

Under the terms of the ceasefire, Hezbollah is required to withdraw its operatives from southern Lebanon and disarm.

The Lebanese government recently passed a resolution demanding that Hezbollah disarm. The terror group has openly defied the order.

Analysts warn that it is extremely unlikely the Lebanese Armed Forces will attempt to forcibly disarm Hezbollah, citing fears that such a move could spark a civil war.

In recent months, Hezbollah has re-established a presence in southern Lebanon near Israel’s northern border, attempting to rebuild its terrorist infrastructure and weapons stockpiles.

In response, Israel has carried out near-daily airstrikes on Hezbollah operatives, weapons depots, and command posts.

Israel has reportedly signaled to international mediators that it is losing patience with Hezbollah’s refusal to comply with the ceasefire.

Israeli officials have indicated that if Lebanon does not force Hezbollah to disarm by the end of 2025, Israel may launch a more extensive military campaign — one that could include strikes deep inside Hezbollah’s stronghold in Beirut’s Dahiyyeh district.
