Israel’s Opposition Labor party announced Wednesday that it is postponing its internal elections because the date clashed with a Britney Spears concert. The party explained that the concert would lead to traffic congestion in the Tel Aviv area, that it would be difficult to recruit security guards on that day because they would all be going to the concert, and that they would be not be able to hold an election event at one of their preferred venues. Therefore, they decided to postpone the elections by a day.Spears is the latest top-tier performer to announce a concert in Israel this coming summer.Aerosmith announced its 2017 concert in Tel Aviv, as did Guns N’ Roses, Justin Bieber, Duran Duran, Bryan Adams, Radiohead and Nick Cave. According to Guy Beser, CEO of Bluestone Entertainment, which is bringing Spears to Israel, his company has been successful in recruiting big-name artists with little impact from the anti-Israel BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions) movement.“When it comes to artists as big as Britney, Guns N’ Roses, or Aerosmith, I don’t think that BDS really effects them,” he said.Read Italian hotel cancels Israeli couple's reservation, claims they are 'responsible for genocide'By: World Israel News Staff BDSBritney SpearsCelebritiesIsraeli Labour partyTel Aviv
