Man arrested after threatening to kill Netanyahu

Israel’s police arrested a man on Tuesday after he threatened to shoot and kill Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The suspect, a 25-year-old resident of Nazareth, sent a letter to Netanyahu’s office in which he wrote that he had placed a “metal bullet” in his gun and that “I am playing Russian roulette on your head Benjamin Netanyahu.”

He further claimed he was a “supreme king” and had full control over an “empire” he had created.

He also threatened to send his “soldiers” which “are everywhere to dismantle and shut down” Netanyahu’s “energies” if he did not transfer NIS 2.5 million at the beginning of every month. He even provided his bank account information so Netanyahu could make the transfer.

Police forces tracked down and arrested the would-be-assassin.

He was remanded at the Nazareth District Court later in the day.
