Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Iran’s declaration that it will resume its enrichment of uranium was a move forward in its attempt to annihilate the Jewish state.

“The day before yesterday, Ayatollah Khamenei, the ruler of Iran, declared his intention to destroy the State of Israel. Yesterday he explained how he would do this – with the unrestricted enrichment of uranium in order to produce an arsenal of nuclear bombs,” the Israeli leader said in a Hebrew-language clip posted on social media Tuesday.

“We are not surprised. We will not allow Iran to obtain nuclear weapons,” he stated.

Netanyahu was referring to Khamenei’s tweet from Sunday in which he said Iran’s “stance against Israel is the same stance we have always taken. Israel is a malignant cancerous tumor in the West Asian region that has to be removed and eradicated: it is possible and it will happen.”

Iran on Tuesday informed the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the UN’s nuclear watchdog, that it will increase the country’s nuclear enrichment capacity, under orders by Khamenei the previous day. The increase would not exceed limits set by the nuclear accord.
