Roger Waters reported to UK authorities after viral terror group endorsement video

Waters’ video has garnered over 200,000 views since posting, with many users supporting his characterization of Palestine Action as “non-violent.”

Roger Waters has been reported to counter-terrorism police after the Pink Floyd co-founder posted a video supporting Palestine Action, the pro-Hamas “activist” group that Britain recently banned as a terrorist organization.

Waters, 81, posted the video on Saturday night, just hours after the proscription took effect at midnight. Speaking directly to the camera, he held up a handwritten sign declaring “Roger Waters supports Palestine Action 5th July 2025. Parliament has been corrupted by agents of a genocidal foreign power.”

“I support Palestine Action. It’s a great organisation. They are non-violent. They are absolutely not terrorist in any way,” Waters said in the three-minute clip.

“This is Independence Day, July 5th 2025. I declare my independence from the government of the UK who have just designated Palestine Action a terrorist – a proscribed terrorist organisation.”

Waters invoked the famous scene from the 1960 film Spartacus, declaring “I am Spartacus” and encouraging others to follow suit.

“Palestine Action is not a terrorist organization so they are lying, and they have put their lies into the law of the land.”

Waters has a lengthy history of supporting Hamas. His former Pink Floyd bandmates have distanced themselves from his positions, and music rights company BMG reportedly dropped him last year over inflammatory remarks about Israel, Ukraine, and the United States.

He has consistently denied accusations of antisemitism, arguing his criticism targets Israeli policies rather than Judaism.

Last Wednesday, Parliament voted 385-26 to proscribe Palestine Action under the Terrorism Act 2000, alongside neo-Nazi group Maniacs Murder Cult and the Russian Imperial Movement.

Palestine Action joins 81 other banned groups, including al-Qaeda, ISIS, and Hamas.

But now with the new law, Waters could face up to 14 years in prison after UK Lawyers for Israel reported the disgraced musician to counter-terrorism police, the Jewish Chronicle reports.

“Palestine Action have been anything but a non-violent organisation, using sledgehammers to smash windows and machinery, and causing millions of pounds of damage over the past few years in order to intimidate the public and certain companies, and to advance their own ideological cause,” noted UKLI Director Caroline Turner.

“Their activities fell squarely within the definition of Terrorism under the Act. We hope that the police will act in this case and investigate Mr Waters’ ill-judged words and actions.”

Campaign Against Antisemitism also responded to Waters’ video, writing:

“We have reviewed this post. Palestine Action has been proscribed. Anyone expressing support for it contrary to section 12 of the Terrorism Act 2000 commits a criminal offence. We stand ready to privately prosecute offenders in instances where an offence has been made out and the authorities fail to act.”
