Israel will use ‘full force’ in next conflict with Hamas

Awaiting publication of the State Comptroller’s Report on Operation Protective Edge, Israel says it will use “full force” in the next conflict with Hamas.

Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman promised to use full force in the next military conflict with Gaza “until the other side waves the white flag.”

“The next conflict to break out will be with full force,” Liberman stated, addressing the annual conference of the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS).

“There are no more conflicts with half power or quarter power,” he continued. “We won’t stop in the middle, and these are the IDF’s orders at this time.”

The defense minister made his remarks in the wake of reports regarding the expected publication of the State Comptroller’s Report on Operation Protective Edge in 2014. The report is said to go into detail regarding the apparent plethora of indecisiveness and ineffective decision-making on the part of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and then Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon before and during the launching of the operation against Hamas in Gaza.

Education Minister Naftali Bennett, who also spoke at the INSS conference on Tuesday, echoed Liberman’s remarks.

“We need a new security perspective, not more fixations and stumbling, but victory, a clear and total victory, A victory that does not require explanations and excuses, a victory that doesn’t need public relations, but rather speaks for itself,” Bennett said.
